This project looked at the ways we are evolving as a species. Recent developments in genetic manipulation, robotics and scientific discoveries such as telomerase (a chemical which caps cells as they divide, effectively stopping them ageing) means that the future of humanity could evolve radically and exponentially in the immediate future.

Many of the ways in which we are evolving are interpreted in the scientific community by referencing classical and contemporary ideas of gods and superheroes. I wanted to create an altar piece complete with idols (or IDolls) that explored the possible consequences, not just in terms of what we are capable of, but also what kind of humanity we are shaping for ourselves.
